I think my favorite thing about having children is feeling like I'm madly in love all the time. When we fall in love with our spouses, we have to know that while it can always be wonderful, it will never have that same intense newness. But with children, every day is new. They are always growing and changing, and we find ourselves falling in love with them all over again every day. Knowing that they will grow up and leave us some day (or at least not want to hold our hand crossing the street or be seen with us at the movies - if you can't think that far ahead) - makes us cherish every second with them. We just don't have the option of taking them for granted.
Having my daughter has truly given me meaning in my life. She was born with SNHL and that has brought me even closer to her. Children truly are amazing. Her latest want/need is to have a sibling. I grew up an only child and know how lonely it can be. So I want to give her what she wants... she will be so happy in July of 2009!!

Gosh, do I have to pick just one thing? I don't think I could...but one of my favorite things is knowing that to that one little person (and soon to be two little people), I can fix anything. I am the world to her, but she has no idea to what extent she is my entire world. To say that she's more important than my husband isn't really the point...she IS my husband, she IS me...She is US, and to see that little piece of us in the world everyday is enough to keep me going millions of lifetimes.
I was never a girl who ever thought I would have children of my own but then I had 3 boys in less than 3 years! I could never have imagined the joy that these 3 would bring me, watching them learn and grow and make their own choices. I feel so blessed.

I love everything about being a mom. Even the little tantrums. My kids make my life fun and interesting. You never know what they might say or do. But I guess my favorite would be the out of the blue moments when they come up to you and tell you they love you when you haven't really done anything special at all. My favorite thing about having children is the neverending hugs, kisses and "I love you's". There's just something about hearing your child say, "I love you mommy" that makes everything right with the world.
My favorite thing about having children is the feeling you get inside when watching them discover something new...like the way their eyes light up the first time a butterfly lands on their arm, or the first time they pet a persian cat. Watching all their "firsts" is my favorite thing.

My favorite thing about having children -- I love the kisses and the hugs (I know that probably sounds cliche), and I also love seeing life through their eyes. When my 5-year-old lost her tooth a few weeks ago, she was so excited that declared it the "best day of her life." I love watching my kids at moments like that. :)
My favorite thing about having children is the first steps, first words, first boyfriend, first bike ride,... I have 3 kids, 10, 7 and 1 , so we see different things happening at different stages, I love, love, love it. And although we also have days where the fighting between brother and sister doesn't seem to end, they will then turn around and have days where they can play together like nothing ever happened. I just love my kids!
