a GIVEAWAY for Mothers

GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED!

'Yes, Jo, I think your harvest will be a good one,' began Mrs. March...

'Not half so good as yours, mother. Here it is, and we never can thank you enough for the patient sowing and reaping you have done,' cried Jo, with the loving impetuosity which she never could outgrow.

'I hope there will be more wheat and fewer tares every year,' said Amy softly.

'A large sheaf, but I know there's room in your heart for it, Marmee dear,' added Meg's tender voice.

Touched to the heart, Mrs. March could only stretch out her arms, as if to gather children and grand-children to herself, and say, with face and voice full of motherly love, gratitude, and humility:

'Oh, my girls, however long you may live, I never can wish you a greater happiness than this!'

- Louisa May Alcott

I think I have the best job on earth. Being a Mother has brought more joy and purpose and love to my life than I could have ever imagined. I cherish it so much that I have wanted to add to my family for some time now and my husband has finally agreed! Now it is up to God to decide if our family will grow....

To celebrate the possibility of having more children with my amazing husband....I am giving away a necklace that symbolizes my love of having babies!

This is a Pregnancy Necklace made by my good friend Monica at Moon Over Maize. You do not have to be pregnant to win this necklace. You don't even have to have ever been pregnant. You just must have some precious children in your life. But you can't have more than 6 children. The necklace will only hold 6 birthstones.

The design of this handmade necklace captures the beautiful curves of a pregnant woman. The sterling silver circle in the belly represents a woman's uterus and the beads in the middle are the colors of your children's birthstones. A special keepsake to celebrate a very special time in your life.

To win this necklace with your choice of birthstones....leave a comment telling me your favorite thing about having children.

Visit Moon Over Maize and check out all of Monica's fabulous jewelry!

I am so happy for you! How wonderful the possibility of another little baby in your family.

I don't know where to begin when it comes to my favorite thing about having children. I think it is who I am because of having children. They have made a better person, and a complete person. I love the snuggles too!

Annie said...

Connie! I'm so happy that you're going to try for another baby. How exciting!!

As for me and what I love about having a child... He lights up my day. Every day I laugh because of him and every day I feel so extremely blessed to have him in my life. I love being a mother and I feel like being a mother is what I was called to do. Giggles and spontaneous hugs and how his little face lights up whenever he sees a "bire" truck!

Kate Coveny Hood said...

You are a brave woman "choosing" to have more than two. Being outnumbered.... Definitely changes the ease of weekend outings with toddlers. But if anyone can do it well - you can Connie!

I think my favorite thing about having children is feeling like I'm madly in love all the time. When we fall in love with our spouses, we have to know that while it can always be wonderful, it will never have that same intense newness. But with children, every day is new. They are always growing and changing, and we find ourselves falling in love with them all over again every day. Knowing that they will grow up and leave us some day (or at least not want to hold our hand crossing the street or be seen with us at the movies - if you can't think that far ahead) - makes us cherish every second with them. We just don't have the option of taking them for granted.

Having my daughter has truly given me meaning in my life. She was born with SNHL and that has brought me even closer to her. Children truly are amazing. Her latest want/need is to have a sibling. I grew up an only child and know how lonely it can be. So I want to give her what she wants... she will be so happy in July of 2009!!

My favorite thing about having children is how one simple giggle, wierd face or silly sound can make everything else in life seem so minimal.

They make me laugh when life is dragging me down & they don't judge. They're just here to love me and occassionally drive me crazy. I have 2.

Hearing them say, I love you, Mommy! Precious!!! I have two boys. Beautiful necklace!

lunar said...

Gosh, do I have to pick just one thing? I don't think I could...but one of my favorite things is knowing that to that one little person (and soon to be two little people), I can fix anything. I am the world to her, but she has no idea to what extent she is my entire world. To say that she's more important than my husband isn't really the point...she IS my husband, she IS me...She is US, and to see that little piece of us in the world everyday is enough to keep me going millions of lifetimes.

Rip Curl Mom said...

I was never a girl who ever thought I would have children of my own but then I had 3 boys in less than 3 years! I could never have imagined the joy that these 3 would bring me, watching them learn and grow and make their own choices. I feel so blessed.

Wishing you the best of luck on trying for that new little one! The best thing about being a mom is "those" moments. The ones that will always stick out.

My youngest daughter was excited that we finally got a dog. She ran to her me-me's car and said "Me-me, me-me, did you hear we got a dog?" Me-me replies yes she heard and the dog's name is Fancy. My beautiful little angel, with a face so sweet replied "Yep, she's a short, fat dog....just like my mom!" Those are the moments you can only shake your head and laugh. My favorite thing about having children -- I love the kisses and the hugs (I know that probably sounds cliche), and I also love seeing life through their eyes. My favorite thing about having children is the first steps, first words, first boyfriend, first bike ride,... I have 3 kids, 10, 7 and 1 , so we see different things happening at different stages, I love, love, love it. I just love my kids!
