The newly pregnant Amber...wants to know what my favorite Fall TV shows are. I'm sure I've told you before...I'm addicted to TV. Once the new season starts, it's very difficult to tear me away from home most days of the week. Here is a list of my favorite shows:
Big Bang Theory (starts September 21st)
I love this show because my husband is an engineer and he is the grown up version of Sheldon. They are like TWINS! And I love Leonard and his crush on Penny. Don't judge me...but I am oddly attracted to Howard Wolowitz.
The Biggest Loser (starts September 15th)
This show is inspiration for me. Seeing what the contestants go through and how hard Jillian and Bob work them out helps me stay motivated. I love Jillian! But I think I would crap my pants if I had to have her for my trainer.
Grey's Anatomy (starts September 24th)
I've loved this show from day one! I'm one of those gals that likes a good cry now and then and this show provides that for me on a regular basis! The story lines are so exciting and tragic and they really got me at the end of last season! Oh George!
The Amazing Race (starts September 27th)
I love to travel. If I had the means...I would have been one of those people that travelled the world with a backpack as a young person. This show fulfills my fantasy of seeing the world and I'm always amazed at what these people get to experience and see. AND Phil is my secret boyfriend (shhh..don't tell anybody K?)
Desperate Housewives (starts September 27th)
LOSTThis show is my guilty pleasure. I live for my Sunday night fix of fabulous outfits and pretty houses...and drama! My favorite character is Bree. She and I are very much alike except that my husband(s) are not as exciting. When DH came back from the writers strike...I was so happy that I watched the new episode with a bottle of Champagne and a special dessert! I'm pretty excited to find out who Mike is going to marry!
This is the show that I love to hate. I get so frustrated at the story lines that are never explained and bad things that keep happening.....but I can't stop! This show is supposed to be coming back in early 2010.
MY FAVORITE SHOW
Friday Night Lights (starts this fall on DirecTV)
I've been watching this show for 3 seasons....and I love it more than any show on TV. I feel like I know each and every character and the football scenes are the best! I feel like I'm there! This show was almost cancelled after the first season but a fan uproar brought it back and DirecTV helped keep it alive! I also love how this show is made. Producers allow the actors to improvise their lines and give feedback on their characters. If you haven't seen this show...you must! All three seasons are available on Netflix and iTunes.
I can't talk about fall TV without discussing a few of the NEW shows that I'm excited to see. The Good Wife looks good, Eastwick looks interesting, Melrose Place looks trashy and the show I'm most excited about is called...
Modern Family! This show is about three families...one of them a gay couple that just adopted a baby and has many of my favorite actors. It's on Wednesday nights at 8PM.

Love LOST, GA and AR- I love Phil too- remember when they showed his dad in New Zealand? Loved it!!
ReplyDeleteFriday Night Lights is so good!! You know they film it here right? Come on down and let's see if we can be extras??
And hubby & I are so looking forward to Modern Family!!
~Becca
Great list, Connie! My sister, BIL and nephew have been extras on Friday Night Lights a few times. I guess they tape the show somewhere around the Austin area. Can't wait for Biggest Loser tonight for some extra motivation, myself! Enjoy. :)
ReplyDeleteHow is it that I feel like I have so much in common with you, yet we could never hang out and watch TV together....? I haven't seen any of these shows. (Well, technically I've seen the 1st 15 minutes of the first Desperate Housewives and had to turn it off. ick)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for Big Bang Theory and Grey's to start. I also love Ugly Betty.
ReplyDeleteInteresting....I watch none of the shows that you watch. hmmm.....
ReplyDeleteand, I would have to say that one of my biggest regrets in not watching LOST. Someday I will catch up with it I am sure, but for now, I am just another person that can not speak intelligently about it at the water cooler.
Hi Connie!
ReplyDeleteI love your comment about Lost - so true! It dives me crazy, yet I still watch it faithfully!
I need to watch that Big Bang Theory, somehow I didn't get it on my TIVO list last year.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
XOXO

I love the Big Bang Theory. I think it is one of the funniest shows on TV. Other than that and Amazing Race we don't have a lot of TV watching in common. I'm into the crime drama type shows.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great list you have! I love Big Bang Theory and Desperate Housewives. I really would like to see the Amazing Race.
ReplyDeletemay i also suggest THE OFFICE? i concur with you on nearly every other show. you have excellent taste
ReplyDeleteLove Big Bang Theory too! Also can't wait for Fringe to come back on. WAY too many unanswered questions. I think they pride themselves on that.
ReplyDeleteI so want to see that Modern Family show too.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I am really excited for Modern Family. I love, love, love Desperate Housewives and Grey's as well. Bree is also my favorite housewive too.
ReplyDeleteI love Biggest Loser too. And feel exactly the same about Lost! I have heard such great things about Big Bang Theory, maybe I will check it out. Also looking forward to Modern Family.
ReplyDeleteI love Biggest Loser too, makes me wish I was there getting my ass kicked by Jillian
ReplyDeleteSo excited for Lost! Too bad we have to wait a little while longer!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE LOVE Friday Night Lights too! My husband and I are so addicted!!!! HOW could I have left it off my list??? Duhhh.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!!
Ah! I need to get into Friday Night Lights! I hear its amazing!
ReplyDeleteLove Big Bang Theory. Smiling like an idiot just thinking about it. :-) But Connie you have left out one very major must see! Where is Gregory House on this list?! A Fall without House, oh say it ain't so...
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with your Amazing Race love. But Phil and I are already common-law spouses. Sorry; truly.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to curb my TV-watching or I won't have any blog time. I cut out 24 before last season and am glad I did. I do miss Chloe, but otherwise I'm good. I am adding Mad Men to the mix before it gets too late.
(And I watch Top Chef and Project Runway. Tim Gunn is my 2nd husband, and he is exactly as thrilled by this as is Phil. Oblivious = oblivious.
My mother in law LOVES the big bang theory! I still have to check it out, Happy FMM!
ReplyDeleteLove your first three...so much.
ReplyDeleteI love FNL, too. I wish I looked like Connie Britton. And I wish I had her tv hubby, soooooo H.O.T.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see new "30 Rock"'s, "The Office"'s, and the new show "Community".
I love {most} of your list!! I ♥ Big Bang Theory too!
ReplyDeleteSeriously hilarious that you say hubby is just like Sheldon. I can see it after you post about why it's better to have a girls night out than a date night sometimes, lol.
Also, LOVE it that you said you're attracted to Howard! That is hilarious! I'm not judging. :)
Such a great list!! I LOVE Grey's...I've been waiting soooo long to know what is going to happen to Izzy. It's driving me crazy!
ReplyDeleteBig Bang Theory has always been "my show". I like to let Michael think that it's "his show". LOL. We kinda split TV time, so if he thinks BBT is his show, then that technically gets me another show, right?
I can't wait for the new Fall season to start already!
The only two that I watch that you do are Grey's and Lost... :-)
ReplyDeleteHere's my list:
~ House
~ Supernatural
~ Fringe
~ NCIS
~ Criminal Minds
~ Medium
~ Numbers
~ 24
~ Bones
~ Damages
~ All the CSIs (Miami, NY, LV in that order)
~ All the Law & Orders
~ The Mentalist
~ Heroes
~ Lie to Me
Then of course there are the new shows that I'm interested in: The Good Wife, the forgotten, Three Rivers, Trauma, and of The Jay Leno Show... YES, people, My name is Lorie, and I AM an Television-aholic.... I have THREE DVRs... But I am disabled and there are times when I can't get out of bed or off the couch, so I sit with my laptop and have the TV on in the background... ;-]
I love the fall!!
Oh, I forgot to mention FOOTBALL!!!
ReplyDeleteI do NOT watch ANY reality shows.
So there is at least THAT... :-)
