I seriously can't believe that her mother didn't come to pick her up. It just goes to show that she was fighting her own battles. She had a crap ass Mom that didn't teach her kindness. So it really wasn't about you anyway. She just learned it at home.

In first grade, I always used to end up sitting across the lunch table from a second grade girl who would spend the entire lunch time calling me "the ugly duckling" and getting all of her friends involved. (Not to be mean, but she wasn't exactly a beauty queen.)

Oh My Goodness ... this is probably the single worst thing that can happen to a girl at school. I love that her meanness came around and bit her years later and you got to witness it.
